My Approach
Whether you are experiencing addiction, starting to be concerned with your relationship with substances, are in long-term recovery, or supporting someone you love experiencing substance use, I am here to support you. Everyone’s relationship with substances and addiction is different, and therefore, recovery is just as unique.
I approach substance use care with a harm-reduction and client-centered approach. I want to work with you to identify your goal for recovery, define what it means to reach those goals, and support you on that journey. I offer a warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative space to help my clients determine where they want to go and find the resources to do that healthfully.
I am extensively trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), and I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) through Behavior Tech. I have worked closely with people experiencing high emotional distress and use an integrative approach that pulls across therapeutic modalities to tailor my approach to your needs. I have a decade of experience as a therapist and enjoy utilizing a collaborative approach with clients to co-create our therapeutic work.
While I am passionate about substance use and addiction care, I also enjoy working with people going through life transitions, such as changes in career, family, or divorce, and helping my clients mindfully engage their lives.
Licensed in California and North Carolina, I welcome clients of all backgrounds and particularly enjoy working with LGBTQI+ persons. If you have a spiritual or religious practice, I welcome you to bring that into our therapy to help support you in this journey.
Beyond substance use, I also work with people experience:

Caregiver stress and grief
Relationship Transitions/Divorce

Relationship to career
Emotional regulation
Women’s issues
Gender Identity
Grief and Loss
Burnout
